Where do you guys get this stuff from?
So the lifter would work equally well without the internal spring?

The relief valve is placed in the cam plate, not in the pump.

Thank you. I have always thought that view and about it feeding into return was on pump. I see a better display on Zipper that shows it like you say.

Guess your fighting AI on how they fill. But they just probably fill with oil to top when piston spring is holding no clearance at base circle.

So it does probably take pressure to get it there. But like you say, even 100 psi wont push it too tight at the base circle.

Yeah, maybe I'm wrong about the filling, it could very well be oil pressure that lifts the plunger, but I do believe the spring assists with it too.

The point was anyway that there is not even close to enough pressure to compress the valve springs.

And regarding Al I was just super confused, I thought you were talking about AI as in artificial intelligence..

This thread as it turns out is not one of my better moments on this forum 😂

I clarified as AI. Artificial Intelligence. Did I spell it wrong?

Note that are Harley uses roller lifters, so they don't spin like a non roller lifter.
