its got 40,000 km on it. Not a high miler by any stretch. I am realizing my problem run further than lifter failure. My initial thought was a collapsed lifter, but that proved to be wrong after the symptoms persisted after replacing. now I am investigating further now that I made it home and found this scoring when removing the lifter. I am not saying that's the entire problem I have, but just want to see if it needs to be addressed before buttoning the engine back up.

There are oversize lifters available, from Jim's and Feuling for instance.
I would think it would be possible to ream the bores to the correct size with the engine still in the frame, but I have not done it so I can't guarantee it's possible.
