Can anyone recommend a good hydraulic cam plate upgrade kit? Cams comparable to the TW50? I love the way these cams perform they are an animal on my bike. Maybe I can stick with TW50 but go with the newer splined?

Anything to watch for going with the hydraulic kit on a 1999? 1999 seems quirky!

Also, should I be concerned with this pinion shaft wear?

Heck, you should be able to get conversion cams in TW50s from andrews.. In that case you can use a take out 07 up cam plate with the hydraulic tensioner.. You will have to plug the balancer oil passage but you'll have to do that anyway on any new plate.. Most cam plates kits require that you use an ignition module that does not use a cam sensor.

Darn no real easy way around the 99' weirdness is there? Rather not change out my ignition module setup TBH (Crane Fireball HI-4TC).

These conversion kits are a lot. Already in it a few hundred with the adjustable pushrods and new lifters. The Baisley spring just arrived. I'm going to keep the cam plate I have and carry on. The Andrews cam gear that's been on there with their keyway is an improvement over stock anyway. Been running this setup hard for a while... not going to re-write the book now. So stock plate, Baisley spring, I will update the rear outer cam bearing to a roller and use the Cyco tensioners with S&S lifters and Quickee pushrods.

Does anyone know the part # for the roller bearing and will this work with my 1999 plate? I'm assuming the inner race needs to be pressed onto the cam.

The already upgraded inner Torrington B-148 bearings appear fine. I'm not going to mess with them the work was already done there!

Sounds like you stay with the spring tensioners. If the crane is early it need the cam sensor.

I confirmed with the Crane instructions as well that it is not needed. I still am leaning towards just keeping the setup I have and just changing out that rear cam bearing. I may just bring the cam plate assembly to my local Indy and see if he can do the press work for me.

Found the service bulletin: M-1097

Did you read that it was a crane and not a DTT?

If you don't know about the subject, don't give advice, because all that does is muddy the waters and is not helpful to anyone.
