That's not true without a lot more detail. Few GM motors have roller hydraulic lifters.

Google..
  • Hydraulic Roller Lifters:
These lifters use a roller to follow the camshaft and a hydraulic plunger to maintain valve lash.
  • Chevrolet Lifters:
Some Chevrolet lifters, particularly those designed for the SB Chevy (Small Block Chevy) and GEN III/LS1/LS2/LS6 engines, are compatible with Harley-Davidson EVO and Twin Cam models.
  • Part Numbers:
Look for part numbers like 7390-4 for EVO lifters or 850-1 for Gen III/LS1/LS2/LS6 lifters.
  • Compatibility:
It's important to confirm compatibility with your specific Harley-Davidson engine and make sure the lifters are designed for the correct pushrod length.

Man this has gone around a few times. My understanding is NO they are not the same. There's more to it than they fit.

At one time, the only difference was the oil hole in the piddle valve and both made by Delphi; close but not identical.

I'm currently running comp 850-1 lifters and my well-built Dyna in my signature. Spring pressures are 170 on the seat and 360 at .600 lift and they're quiet as hell. No problems.. The entire valve train is quiet and works perfect..

I will dig out my paperwork and I'm pretty sure that all the ports were very close to identical with the OEM lifters.. There is no 2 minute difference As noted in their video between S&S and going with the Comp lifters.. I don't know which ones they used but I do know that I totally took them apart and measured everything to confirm.. actually have a thread around here that I created discussing several different brands of lifters and measuring them and comparing them...
