Engine Mechanical TopicsDiscussion for motor builds, cams, head work, stripped bolts and other engine related issues. The good and the bad. If it goes round and around or up and down, post it here.
Sorry man, you are now at the mercy of the dealer or independent mechanic and their diagnostic and repair skills. Some good, some bad.
And that my man, means money.
You can always come here to get opinions about anything that comes up.
But remember, "CONSIDER THE SOURCE"
There are MANY competent folks on here willing to help, there are also some that think they know, but they don't know.
I understand that you are into this and still paying on it. All I was suggesting is that you need to make a decision whether or not you want to continue with repairing it and making it roadworthy or cutting your losses, that's all...
There are many of us on here that can help you through repairing it if that's your decision to do and going to another motor is not the answer. You have no clue what you're going to be buying to put into it...
The best thing to do is post up what's going on and letting us know in detail to the best of your knowledge so we can help you fix it. You don't have to be a super mechanic these are pretty basic motors and one of the best reliable engines that hardly ever made..
If you take it step by step you will get there..
How many miles on the bike?

Thanks again for the support and reply, last I checked it had 45k on the clock
That is not a lot for an Evo motor.. It should still be a pretty healthy motor depending how the previous owner treated it..
This is one of the reasons why I bought the bike was because of the mileage and the age of the bike.
I called the guy that works on it for me, and he seems to think it has a stage 1 or stage 2 kit in it. it has a power commander in it.
