Engine Mechanical TopicsDiscussion for motor builds, cams, head work, stripped bolts and other engine related issues. The good and the bad. If it goes round and around or up and down, post it here.
Buying used heads and porting is relevant. It would solve this problem for good.
The OP asked for help with a bad thread and clearly stated he DID NOT WANT TO REMOVE the head
Several people responded with advice / opinions on possible solutions
I know, I`m but then there's your comment about buying another bike while waiting

How many wasted posts about the post have their been now? Would have just been one post. But instead we just this BS. Funny how the mess credited by the whining about posts
One post about buying used and porting since they are off. Created all this whining
Did it even make the OP cry? So why even start this chain of BS?

The bolts are all 3/4" long so not sure what happened there. Again, I evenly and carefully tightened each one a bit at a time. I'm guessing those threads were already jacked up from another person who installed that intake years ago. It didn't feel good when I removed it.
I bought a 1" long bolt and it worked perfectly. Plenty of room before it hits the wall of the blind hole.
Runs much better without intake leaks!
Original seal deterioration Vacuum plug on Mikuni deterioration
Based on the intake with it's flat lower part, it looks like you have HTCC heads. I'd bet that those with the TW50 cam and higher compression pistons would do well.
If you ever pulled the heads of a TC you'd know it's the rear head.
I have pulled many heads on TC. I didn't look at pics. Simply stating if he was lucky enough to have the front, it's easier. Not sure it was worth 2 more emails since he knows which one it is
This is handy tool
