KB piston slap.
Anyone using KB pistons have an idea about how many miles before a rebuild? I used 10.5 to 1's and have piston slap that is noisy as all get out and i'm wondering how many miles i will get before having to tear down and rebuild with Wiesco 10.5's in my 97" BB?

Just replaced the SE pushrods with Fuelmoto's and what a difference. Most of the noise is now gone. The SE's had a slight bow to them so could never get valves set right and had quite a bit of noise. Now, it's almost quiet as stock top end.

it has been my experiance that if the KB pistons are making noise, (piston slap) they were set up incorrectly. meaning the the clearances of the piston to wall is to large. These pistons like to be set up with tight clearances or they make noise. It is not usually the pistons problem but more of the boring job that was done. I have set these pistons up with less than .001" clearance and they do not slap and have great longevity. The weisco's will make the same noises if set up incorrectly. dsv
