I have a 2006 Sporty and its all stock. I know that knocking out the baffles would affect the back pressure. Would drilling holes into the muffler affect the pressure?
that would be the worse thing to do. Drilling a hole will allow cold fresh air in the pipes causing pops and worse bent valves. pops are caused by hot unused fuel meeting with fresh air in the exhaust and igniting flowing backward and burning up exhaust valves and screwing up the flow of exhaust. believe it or not there is a formula for how long an exhaust should be for best performance at given RPM. but you have to go back to basic engine building to know that. Nobody ever goes back to basics

So what do you recommend I do? I'm tight on budget so buying a stage 1 kit and new muffler would be out of the question for awhile....what other possible ways are there to make the bike a little louder? and thank you for your reply!!!
I drilled mine out 3 years ago, 1" drill, one of the best things I'd done, added torque cones and adjusted air mixture. Runs like a scalded Hog...sure sounds better..
