Default Screamin' Eagle 103 ci Street Performance Stage 4 Kit

I have 13 Ultra Limited, I use her as my main form of transportation. I have the 7 year extended service plan, so I need to keep the upgrades H-D street legal. The bike has the stage 1 upgrades done, and I use a power vision tuner. I have been wanting a bit power, not looking to go overboard. I was contemplating installing the SE255 cams and just letting it go at that. But, while going through the parts catalog I found this kit, http://www.harley-davidson.com/store...ce-stage-4-kit. I'm look for power in the range from idle to around 4.5K rpms. I spend a good portion of my daily commute at 60 to 75mph speed range on the highway. Weekends, I like to ride the mountains in western NC, VA, TN, and GA.

How much of difference will I get with this kit over just installing the SE255 cam?

Just had this installed on my 13 SG. Had stage 1 with stock cams so not sure about the 255's but got 105 hp and 108 torque which was up from 79/98. Numbers are numbers, difference is amazing. Maybe a bit much for me, will take some getting used to and most likely will not experience all the potential. As far as warranty, I was told it will void factory unless installed at purchase. Dealer will warranty for the remainder of my warranty which includes an extra year but they stated not the MOCO. Worth checking out.

Default 103 Stage IV

Have a work order in for the upgrade and really cannot make my mind up if I want to go through with it or not. Would appreciate hearing from you how it turned out for you and if you like the new power, if it was worth it, and any concerns you have now its done.. thank you

A couple of things caught my attention in your post which are the basis of what, IMHO, would be a wise move.

1. "been wanting a wee bit power, not looking to go overboard.
2. "looking for power in the range from idle to around 4500rpms.
3. you are looking at dealer performance options to maintain warranty.

Based on those three points, consider a cam only upgrade, as you were before you stumbled on to the 92500001 kit. The SE255 is a torque monster in a 103" motor; the 254 would be another choice. You didn't mention what exhaust you are running but exhaust is more important than cam choice. Save the money you would spend on the kit and spend it on your exhaust. Several options, FuelMoto head pipe and their Jackpot mufflers; V&H Power Dual head pipe and Monster round mufflers; V&H Power Dual head pipe and Fullac recore of OEM mufflers.

You will need to find a tuner; most dealers are not capable of providing a proper tune.

JMHO but I think you were on the right track before you stumbled on to the 9250001 kit. Upgrade cams, inner cam bearings and exhaust; get a good tune and I think you will be happy with results and the $$ saved in your pocket.

EDIT: To answer "how much of difference will I get with this kit over just installing the SE255 cam", I will say that the kit will make more peak HP and peak TQ should be the same. The added HP won't come into play until the motor is approaching 4000rpms which is at the upper end of your operating range. However the TQ will come on right off idle and the curve will be fairly flat; more TQ under the curve than the kit. Neither the 255 nor the 254 are big HP cams but the 254 should make more HP than the 255 but not quite as much TQ. JMHO but the 255 sounds just right for your application.

Just read JimGnitecki's thread about his stage 4 race kit, all you need to know. Maybe Str perf. kit is diff slightly, nonetheless

Cool Noise??

I just had the Stage 4 kit installed on my 13 Ultra and I am noticing more top end noise than before. Has anyone else had this happen? I have done 4 smart tune runs so far and the bike runs great, I just was wondering if the increased noise was something I should be worried about.

I 100% agree with djl here. Why paint the whole house when you can simply repaint the door frame to achieve your end results?

Only thing I would stress is find someone that truly knows how to tune that 255 cam. It's a heat demon but if tuned right, will do wonders for you.

my 12 FLHTK does 109/122 with a cam, exhaust, a little head work, and a good tune. Nothing will scare the crap out of you more than pulling the front wheel up speed-shifting from 1st to 2nd and not expecting it to do that. It's FUN all the way across the board.
