I bought a set up from Kirby or whatever idiot(s) he has working there after 2014. This is my experience. All arrived seal and packaged nicely. Open the head box up and kindly received my heads with free grass clippings inside and a bent exhaust stud..... Yes I **** you not.
Not bad for $1200 he charged me and yes they failed with a valve stem leak. ( Naive, I guess it is my own fault for not tearing it down, cleaning each part and putting it back together after spending $1200) Hey Brand New S&S heads were roughly the same price, fooled me with his $795 stage 2 heads with no valves or springs there add ons at extra price
I had also ordered a full gasket kit but only received the gaskets to do the job. (half the kit missing)
I never mentioned the the clippings to him as i took it in good faith washed them blow them out twice but hey dust/dirt engines no a good mix and as i said before naive. He sent me replacement valve seals which i paid for and again they failed so i carefully rechecked and came to the conclusion seals were wrong size and changed them to specs of guide and leak stoped
In the end like anyone i guess has encountered a problem KIRBY IS NOT AT FAULT and it is you problem to deal with. !!!!!!! So do not order over the phone or net from him. You will lose waste your money. !!!!!! Complete??? Cometic Top End Gasket Kit Kirby Heads complete with bent exhaust stud. $1200 not even new studs
If you would have been here 7 years ago you would have!
It's A long ways from Florida to the UK... I would blame the shipping not the Shop....Do you think Kirby would really send out a head with a bent exhaust stud???? Come on man don't be ridiculous.....
When flowing heads on our superflow 600,a pipe is put on the ex side (same flange as OEM) if the stud was bent, the flange wouldn't have fit.stud wasn't bent when it left here

I'm sure it wasn't.. I would never think you would send it that way.. For that matter I don't think anyone would.. screw them...

screw them.....these are personal experiences! If nobody ever mentions bad **** that’s gone down how will things get better???? I did this thread LONG time ago and that’s what I experienced dealing with him. I’m glad you had better results, but I didn’t. The BS I dealt with is long over and done.

Ok then... But remember Nothing or no one in life is perfect and some where or some one is not going to be happy regardless of the situation.. I'm very surprised that an issue that was 7 years old was brought back up... It seems that some people jus can't let the past rest... Just like BLM.. How can we move forward if we keep looking back at all the negative problems in life.. You think I might be going a little to far with this but we need to focus on making life better and caring about our neighbor.. Not shunning them because of race or creed.. No one is perfect... And I will defend Kirby, I have spoken to him a few times and a good friend of mine Scott has always talked well of him... I don't think Kirby would intentionally create a issue of poor service... JMHO.....
The box/boxes arrived in an undamaged condition and checked for damage before signing. (no Damage)
Half the Cometic top end gasket kit was missing.
There was grass clippings found in head port.
Sadly the later has no visual proof but does not mean it did not happen no matter how ridicules/absurd it sounds.
Hey **** happens. Whether or not this **** happened, IDK. But damn, why we are posting about **** from 7 years ago is beyond me.
I do most of my own work except machine shop stuff but I wouldn't let this stop me from using Kirby if I needed something done.
It is time to ride on, and just like the journeys we take on our bikes, we learn from them and the wiser we are. Sharing our journeys with others whether good or bad may help others make better choices and is this not what this forum is all about.
OK,last comment on this 7 year old bullshit. the first guy (bobber) had me do heads,i asked about t body runner size and he said he may go to a bigger t body later, well sorry,i set the heads up for whats being run at the time of the build (i did offer to go bigger on the ports later when he decided to go with bigger runners for free & he would only have to pay for seals) that wasnt good enough and he wanted "compensation",whatever the **** that means.then this second jerk off supposibly got a head with a bent stud witch didnt happen here as the ex flange wouldnt have fit when flow testing in my shop & had grass clippings in his ports (since i dont mow grass in my shop & it would be immposible to have this happen),im calling bullshit here too(i do remember sending out another v seal set,but have no idea about the rest which he never complianed about until now 7 years later (inc the shortage of 1 gasket, not "half the kit", from the cometic kit, sorry i dont work for them & had nothing to do with packing their boxes) .how about we (shops) have a section for crybaby, impossible to please customers? well screw both you guys,im done on this now
