Default Back together and Dynoed Friday

Very pleased with cam swap results! I started out just addressing cam tensioners and decided while I was in there might as well upgrade cams. This is stock 88 with stage 1 air cleaner, Rinehart duals, and a PCIIIusb. I added Cyco tensioners, Andrews 48 cams and baisley spring, S&S lifters and pushrods. Got it all back together and took it to the dyno Friday morning, we made probably 40 plus pulls and he got the thing tuned in sweet. Made just shy of 100 foot lbs of tq and 87 horse on his Dynojet dyno. I was pleased and took it for a few rides this weekend and it feels great! Happy camper here! Love the way it pulls now!

Indy V twin. To be honest I dont give a rats *** about the dyno #'s. The bike feels better and has more power than it did and thats what I wanted. I stood right by the bike and watched him work with the fuel map up and down and inside out, he knew what he was doing and I got the results I wanted. Wanted to make sure it was in proper tune all through all ranges of throtle position and rpm and it is now.

He said it was a stock 88" with Rinehart duals. Impressive, but would like to know the year and model of the bike.

Its an 05 RoadGlide. Bike had the SE aircleaner, pipes, and Power Commander 3 usb on it when I got it. Cams were the first engine upgrade I have done and that was just cause I wanted to replace the tensioners. Rode it again last night and loving it.

Great numbers for an 88"er. I know you said you don't care about the numbers but even if the dyno is a "happy" dyno, it proves that the 48 is a nice upgrade in an 88" motor. A lot of folks don't think out of the box and think the Andrews 21 or 26 are the only cam upgrades for that motor. The 48 and the S&S 509 or 583 if springs will accomodate the higher lift are all better IMHO.

I called Andrews direct and spoke with their tech line. He explained that for an 05 why the 48 was a better choice than the 26. The 05 heads have the beehive springs that will handle more lift than the 04 heads.

I know that which is why the S&S 509 is an option for the earlier models that won't accomodate cams with lifts above .510". The point I was trying to make is that 99% of the posts recommending cams for Stage 1 88" motors will be for the Andrews 21/26 or the SE203/204. Installing the 48 in a Stage I 88" motor is a deviation from the norm. Good on ya for avoiding the conventional wisdom found on this and other forums. The S&S 583 is another option for the '05 and up 88" motors.
