Head Gasket..Up or Down?

It's been a while folks.....like years and years since my last self-build. So...here is the stupid question for the day. I have head gaskets with a sealer-strip on one side. I think I know the answer, but to be sure....does this sealant print go up or down over the cylinder?

Doesn't matter which way you face the sealer strip. However, I would recommend an MLS gasket like Cometic offers in lieu of the OEM head gasket. JMHO.

Thanks...I was pretty sure it didn't matter, but like I said...it's been a while. Right now, I am looking for reliability for the rest of the riding season and plan to go back in and do some mods...probably some performance heads and stuff. I'll take the advice on the gaskets when I go back in to install a little fire in the oven. I am installing Cometic base gaskets with the hopes of never having to yank the jugs again.

I appreciate your fielding an answer on the stupid-question-of-the-day thread.
