Lifter replacement question..
Next week I will be having the SC hydraulic cam chain tensioner kit along with new cams installed and will be using agj pushrods. I also am replacing the lifters but forgot to order new lifter cover gaskets. Just wondering can the lifters be replaced from inside the cam chest or is it necessary to remove the lifter covers.

You can install the lifters from inside the cam chest but you will need the magnet chingadera to hold them up once installed so you can install the cams. However, the problem will be the anti-rotation pins that keep the lifter from rotating in the bore. R/R of those little guys with the lifter blocks in place will be trick; getting them out with a magnet will be easy but getting them back in, not so much. I have never tried it, so maybe I over estimate the degree of difficulty but if I were you, I would get the gaskets.
