Put her together and puked oil through the throttle body and pressure was up down and sideways. I think the pump is defective!! New pump on the right. As you can imagine I need new shorts! Am I nuts or are the caps missing?
The ball bearings are missing....or known as the check *****. I'd contact whomever/where ever you got the pump from and let them know. You can get pn#8873 which are the ball bearings for $1.75 each
I noticed them missing when I put the thing together they were not there I just chucked it up to the new design. As you might imagine I was a bit shocked at the results. fastest tear down ever!
I have to say now more than ever iI can't wait to feel that HQ cam from the sound of it, it will be fun!
While I have the post, does it make a difference which way the oiler hole points when installing the lifter? I think I have it the way they came out but I am on the second guess trail....

It doesn't make a difference. Most folks do install them the same way they came out, but it doesn't matter.
emailed the pump pic to the HD place that sold it to me and they pulled a few from the shelf. He said the first one had no bearings, the second had one and the third is presently in my bike which is back together and running
It seems to be a little advanced on the time but true to what I have heard the power has been moved and the bike is very responsive. Gonna ride to work this morning and put a few miles on it then its tune time.....

Good for you man! You're FAST. What was your final Oil pressure? How did the cams affect the top end?
I have a cool boss who let me take off early and get to it. I had the pump by 2 and the bike running by 4. The oil pressure @ temp and idle is about 15-17 up about 10 pounds and running is what it has always been 28-30.
The cam has from what I can tell has great roll on response. Like I said the timing is a bit heavy and makes for a hard start. Defiantly runs up and out quicker but I am sure I am going to like it.
