Since I owned my FLHT, I noticed a strange (for me) noise from engine - it is like chugging or breathing and is noticeable from carb side. When I switch off the engine, there are some long chugs or "uffff" noise. Listen the video, there it is.
No any noticeable influence to engine output, no blowing somewhere outside heads, no oil consuption, no leaks. Heard it with injector and now after swapping hear with carb the same noise. 3 years still. Just curious, is it decides normal?
Your engine is a big air pump, I suspect all you can hear is air being drawn into the engine through the carb. Does it have a free-flow air cleaner and an aftermarket cam?

In generally I think so, but what makes me thoughtful I didn't hear so clearly audible chug from other harleys.
Yes, the bike has free-flow K&N air cleaner, Vance&Hines exhaust, but the cam is stock
The stock air cleaner that all Harleys come with when new is actually a silencer, so any change of air filter body will increase induction noise. I bought my 1990 Glide new and was surprised how noisy it was after I changed air filter.

May be it is a key. When everything is o.k. with the bike the owner often starts to see problems where they aren't. It's about me
