In an earlier post you said you had 6 volts on the ground wire for the turn signals.
Follow that wire all the way back to the frame.
Use the volt meter to find the problem with that ground.
I'm willing to bet you have a corroded connector or a broken wire somewhere.
You should have 0 volts on any ground.

Well. It's not the ground it's the marker light power. It's the one that should have a constant 12volts and I'm getting 5.65v on it

It could be that I remembered it wrong but the cure is almost the same.
You just have to chase the wire back to the ignition switch.
I'm still betting on a corroded connection or a bad wire.

The black wires end up in the plug I'll try and see how they come out of the other side of the plug

Are you still just getting 5 volts at the plug?
What are you getting on the opposite side?

With your voltmeter, check the voltage on each terminal on the flasher unit. It is under the circuit breakers on the dash.

If good, continue.

Find the green/black wire that passes through the connector for the dash, leave the connector intact (don`t unplug it). Check the voltage on the wire at each side of the connector.

The next spot will be the connector for the right hand control switches,
Check the voltage on the green/black wire on one side of the connector, on the other side check the voltage on the green wire.

Same connector: check voltage on brown wire on each side of the connector, and also check voltage on the black wire that is next to the brown wire (this black wire is only on one side of the connector).

ok....did all the tests......getting 12v where I should...I have eliminated any problems with the plugs(handlebar switch side) on the right side of the bike...I also unhooked the rear signals and tail light eliminating them...what ive narrowed it down to is the plug all the way to the left in the picture...when I plug either switch in the other side I get no lights or flashing and 5 volts out of the signal power wire on the opposite side plug........

I see the purple has jumpers from the plug all the way on the right....

im testing but im not sure what im looking for and I don't see anything wrong with the wires........

The problem could be built up corrosion on the connector in the plug.
Pretty common actually as the connectors Harley uses are crap in my opinion.

Not sure if this is relative. But should the main breaker in the back of the bike always be hot even if the switch is off?
