I'm going to GUESS that they are a USB to RS232 converter, which you can buy for a few dollars from various outlets.

you are correct the dyna ignition uses a old school serial connection. off the top of my head I think its pin 3 data TXD goes to the tach wire pin 2 RXD goes to the voes wire and pin 5 is ground. most new computers don't use serial connections anymore that's why you need a usb to serial converter

I know... just felt like being a d**k because I can't get into the minutia of electronic tuning. I have the power vision for my tc96 and it just makes my head hurt. This is why I'm going back to the evo; to simplify.

after hours on the dyno trying to get the AFR right and then taking it out for a ride gets you close but real time monitoring is way better and when I get it dialed in ill put plugs in the bungs on my exhaust and remove it and put it on the shelf for the next build

the dyna ignition is way easier than a power vision
when Im riding if I notice any ping or spark knock I look at my tach when I get home I plug it in and remove a little advance from the curve at that rpm
it took a few weeks to dial it in but now im getting max advance without detonation.
