Well after 27k i bring mine to the dealer for service only thing out of the ordenary was them telling me both engine bottom or base gaskets are leaking a little and i am planning a cross country this summer and the dealer says i wont make it. My thoughts are all evo,s leak and there is not much oil presure there whats all of your thoughts?? Spend the $1200 or not?
It depends on how bad it is leaking.
If it is only a seep then you are good to go.
If it is pouring out then get them fixed but make sure they use Cometic gaskets.
If they had to tell you they are leaking, then it isn't much of a leak. Unless you're really poor at observation of such things. My opinion is they want your $1200. My rear base gasket seeps a little, but I don't want to go into the motor until I have more reason.
You could get a whole lot more for $1200 then just base gaskets. I wouldnt use that dealer anymore.. Find a good independent. Like others said though if it's just a little seepage run it
Thanks all and I agree too much money and yes it's a small leak in flack I had not noticed it at all just noticed oil on the under side but thought it was off the blow by hose.well ride on all!
