I've got a set of Brembo's and their 11.8" rotors, but don't have the newer style lower legs yet so I can attach them. In the meantime, would putting the Brembo master cylinder on with my old calipers give me an improvement? How about flushing the system and using Dot 4 before I get the right sliders?
You can buy an adapter plate for the Brembo's or make one, some prefer the full lower leg conversion.
Master cylinder may help but it isn't a lot different inside from your original one.
Leave fluid alone until you do the conversion, once you get into the conversion you will only be using your original brake lines and you can flush these with methylated spirits if converting to Dot 4....it's easier than flushing the m/cyl and calipers and then using Dot 5.
I also have the full Brembo upgrade in hand. Living in the UK I found it cheaper to buy take-off sliders on US Ebay than to buy adapter brackets! Sounds daft but true. In fact my three Brembo calipers and the sliders all look like showroom take-offs. Personally I would wait until you have everything ready to go. They are available as I write on US Ebay for less than 100 bucks.
