As I am replacing my Carby, Ignition and Cam I had better replace or get a compatible Air Filter System as well.
At this point, I am looking at an S & S Super E Carby, Dynatek 2000 Ignition and either EV 27 or V Thunder 3010 Cam so will want something compatible with that. Have looked at S & S, K & N and Arlen Ness as they are the ones that I know of.
That being said, anyone got suggestions for a good set up on a 97 FLSTC?
Thanks again guys and sorry for the novice questions, just want everything to be the best it can be and get good honest advice.
You plan on fitting an S&S carb? Great - there is only one filter to go with that! I like them so much I bought mine with a carb plus an entire engine!
If you had been brought up like me on a diet of Warner Riley's exploits at Bonneville with tuned S&S bikes you wouldn't think twice!!!!! 200mph on this, in the mid-70s:
Good to know THC - about the only thing I am tossing up about is the Cam. Not sure whether to go with the EV-27 or to go with a V Thunder 3010. Both seem to get good reviews, although the EV seems to be the more common one to use.
The S&S carb kit comes with the aircleaner. You can replace the filter element itself with a K&N one, which is what I have on both my bikes, including the sporty which no longer has an S&S carb (EFI now) but still has the S&S air cleaner and the K&N, just because that's the shape that Harley air cleaners are supposed to be.
