Here's an update. It appears that the key broke in half on the oil pump drive gear. I dropped the intact half on my garage floor and couldn't find it, but will look again tonight so I can take a picture. Upon further inspection of the pos Ultima oil pump, all of the keys seem to be loose. I don't think this would be by design, but correct me if I am wrong. Also, shouldn't the pressure relief valve come out with a magnet? Anyway, I have ordered a Harley replacement pump and hopefully will solve my problems.

I finally received my HD oil pump. Please tell me its just my imagination, but the ultima oil pump body is thicker than the HD by about an 1/8th of an inch. Wouldn't this difference make the removal of the pump shaft necessary to be replaced with a stock shaft? This is one time when I hope that someone can tell me my eyes are getting old and go get glasses.

New oil pump and pressure switch is on and problem solved. The design of the Ultima oil pump is different from a stock pump. The body is thicker, but the cover is flush. The HD pump cover has a recess in it to accommodate the shaft. At first look, it appears that the ultima would need a longer shaft, but they are the same. Thanks for all of the input.
