Mine was remanufactured in the summer of '02 and had the new lifters. I know because I replaced that set and at least two others besides (109,000 miles on the motor currently).

OK guys. You got me there. I had a hearing test done a while back in a sound proof booth. My ear doctor said I did not need a sound proof booth and that I was one. His exact words were, "You can't hear worth a Zip." My wife nodded her head yes. Probably why my drag pipes are so quiet also. "Ya think"

The point is it runs great with the stock cam for the way I ride, many upgrade cams are noisy, and even though I can not hear lots of things I can hear engine noises.
