Default 1999 bone stock EVO

Hey all
It looks like I'm picking up a bone stock 1999 EVO with 5,000 miles, ridden a couple times a year and stored in winter, one owner bike. It is all original, even the tires.

Can any wrenches give me ideas where to begin on this to get it road worthy to make it a weekly rider?

I am thinking the obvious first:
change fluids
tires
spark plugs
clean the carb
new ss brake lines
battery
clean the gas tank

Thanks in advance.

The very first thing you should do is get the Factory Service Manual for your bike.

Just out of curiosity what model bike is it?
You need 5 posts to put up pics.

I will get the manual for sure. It is an FXR.

It's not that old to be worrying about brake lines and such. Do the norm. All the fluids, check brake pads, dry rot on tires. Other than that shouldn't need much. Evo's are pretty resilient. and yea get a manual.........

Certainly the three fluids and tires. I wouldn't bother with anything else unless an inspection indicates a need or you want to just because.

Apart from the aforementioned FXR2 or FXR3 models there was no FXR in 1999.

Bought a '99 last year. It's a great bike, very fun to ride. I'm sure you will find a couple of issues with it. I had to replace the regulator on mine, clean the carb and install a Stage 1 kit for the Vance and Hines exhaust, but now it's just running like a clock. You're going to have a blast with that thing.
