Looks nice.
Price is good.
Odometer picture means little since those can be changed.
17,500 is low miles...why was a transmission rebuild needed with such low miles?

yeah true about odo. I am gonna ask that question myself...i'm curious.
Yep. Another bike with a story. Don't like stories.
yeah i know - unfortunately that's all there is to look at it at the moment in my price range - i'm just gonna look at these and only buy if the story pans out otherwise at least i will have reference when the perfect one comes along.
The 1997 road king should have a speedometer with an LCD odometer.
That speedometer year is a rather difficult speedometer to change because it is not a plug and play unit like newer bikes.
So if it has the bunch of wires under it then i would doubt it was changed.
Still, rather odd for a transmission to require a rebuild at such low miles.
When people state things such as "miles on the engine" it makes me wonder why the rest of the bike does not have the same miles.
When i read rebuild...that makes me wonder also since that is a very general term...could mean they changed the oil and a shift lever.
Sometimes sellers post stuff but really have no idea what they mean.

As always a good post from im. If the rider was not good with shifting then the fork was worn and swapped, oops meant rebuilt. Some people can do this from the top door and some pull the entire unit.
Not a bad looking bike at all, good luck with everything!
