Default Drive belt and what else?

I was running a little late this morning and gouged on it kinda hard, down shifted when I should have up-shifted resulting in a broken belt. I was however, able to coast the rest of the way to work, and clock in on time.
Question is this - Besides the drive belt, what else should I change or upgrade while I've got that much of it apart. It's getting a new tire and front sprocket. The sprocket is quite wore out and this is the failure I've been looking forward to (believe it or not) so I could replace that sprocket.

Personally, I believe in changing out both sprockets and the belt at the same time. But that's just me.

Baker Transmission comes to mind first.
Then what the hell since you have the primary off and the tranny out might as well drop in a big inch S&S motor.
That S&S motor will need a better clutch, starter, and exhaust....

You do know that Baker now has a reverse gear that allows you to do burnouts backwards don't you???

I think that should do it for now!!!

Probably will have to pass on the trans, although reverse burnouts are intriguing.

Don't get a light weight aluminum front sprocket unless you want to be in there again in 25 K miles. ask me how I know.
Replace as many seals as you can while you're there.

I wouldn't even think about another belt... Put a chain drive in. They are quiet and can take anything you throw at it... Zippers has reasonable paint to match kits for $400. You'll never worry about it again. And chain wax doesn't fly all over the place........ask me how i know......

The last chain I had chain wax did fly everywhere and it seemed like I was constantly checking the chain tension.
Granted I was riding more often then but there is no way I'd go back to a chain.
