Default James multi layer steel gaskets?

Finishing up the last odds and ends that I need to purchase for the top end and cam swap.
(I ended up buying those screaming eagle heads, pistons, cam, adj pushrods, and cylinders that someone posted that was on Craig's).
Buying the complete engine gasket kit next...either James or cometic.
But I found these at jp cycles. I imagine they r not the ones in the kit. Is it worth buying these in addition. Since base and head gaskets r a common problem

also whats the differences from the 81-91 vs the 92-up complete engine gasket sets? I mean my bikes a 89, but using the screaming eagles and such, isn't gonna require me to by the later year set is it?

While I only use metal gaskets and have used James on my FXSTC I wouldn't buy that kit as it doesn't tell you what the thickness of the head and base gaskets are and won't allow you to set your deck height.

You should figure out what you need for your bike then order those.

81-91 are case breathers and have a different cam chest gasket than later models.

'92 was the first year for the top breathers, right?

? I think it is 93 and up...my 92 is still a bottom breather, why the gaskets are 84 to 91 does confuse things some though. May be late 92 on the switch.
