So this morning on my 96 Ultra Classic (FLHTCUI) my check engine light came on (well at least what I assume is the CE light, red light to the right of the Fuel Indicator Amber light on tach) as I was going down my drive way, so me thinking it was an oil light for some reason turned around and went back up the drive way added some oil. Turns out it was 1/2 qt low. Started up no light, took off rode about a mile light went on and off a few times. So I turned around took it home. During the mile back home it would come on for a few seconds at a time an go off.
I didn't have time to look at it any further this morning, I was already running late for work at this point.
Can any one offer any suggestions of where to start looking to figure out what is going on?? I've been looking though the service manual and cant find what could cause a check engine light.
So I cleared the codes, and took it for about a 5-7 minute ride, no CE light yesterday. Then this morning, about the same place as yesterday the light is back on. Going to pull the codes again when I get home.
I guess I need to replace the battery and Engine Temp Sensor, hopefully it isn't a stator issue causing the battery voltage code.

Don't guess!!!!!
Grab a multi meter and go through the charging system sticky to make sure your battery and charging system is good before you just grab your wallet and start spending money!!!!
