Cheap fork seal replacement tool
Well I ended up with a leaking fork seal here lately and today I replaced them both.
But here's the cool part I discovered. All the repair posts I've read talk about splitting a 2" piece of PVC and using that. I stopped by Lowe's and was looking for a short piece of 2" pipe but decided on a couple of straight couplings instead. I wasn't sure which would work best so I bought 2 different sizes, a 1-1/4" coupling and a 1-1/2" coupling thinking I would cut one of them up. Turns out all I had to do was remove the center stop in the 1-1/4" coupling and it slid over the fork tube. I used the 1-1/2" coupling to hit with a deadblow hammer. The 1-1/2" coupling worked perfect to help seat the dust shield as well.
So for all of like $1.98 I found a great way to seat fork seals and dust shields.
That's what I've been doing all day today, test ride after 9:00pm felt good, ready for the morning commute.

Good one
I was digging around awhile looking for something to help with some fork seals.
Found a piece schedule 40 (was it 80) aww thinner wall stuff. 1 1/4 pvc for drain field with one end made to fit another joint of the stuff.
Cut it long enough to use over the tubes and all. Had it almost ten years now.
Had some patio furniture made outta pvc given to us years ago.
It's nice when a plan works out
