Like I stated try replacing that oil cap before throwing in the towel. The rubber on it may be just worn with age like mine did.

I know, I didn't pay much for the bike so spending a few thousand more (eventually) would be ok and bring the value up so it won't hurt so bad

Not sure about value cause it hard to put a figure on a custom build or a short lived Moco. It will increase it longevity though. You can check the NADA on value http://www.nadaguides.com/Motorcycle...G-DADDY-1640cc

It'll give an approximate worth.

I definitely will, I've actually been sticking a rag on top of it and when I bolt the seat down it holds it in place and u can't see the rag. I just want to have a plan when what seams like the inevitable comes to pass

I wouldn't bother swapping out the engine since nothing is wrong with it.

Change the oil cap.

Do a compression test.

How much did you pay for the bike?

That just means that motor is a head breather.
It won't affect the mounting of the engine at all.

Swapping motors won't bring the value of that bike up at all.

Simply put the aftermarket frame means that bike won't be worth much no matter what you do to it.

If you want to up the value then get a Harley frame and put your parts into it.

I do believe 1997bagger has a 89"er for sale, bolt in, nothing needed and will probably knock the snott out of that 100"er.... Real reputable dude here on the forums. Give him a pm, I know he won't steer you wrong....He'll let you know if it will bolt right in
