Yes yes I know this has briefly been covered lately although my situation is a tad different.
Im trying to install new avon grips on a 1993 FXRS-SP and as everything was on, I go to twist the throttle and it twists back fine but doesn't snap back. I've tried adjusting the cables that doesn't work. I also didn't get any new bars. The same bars were snapping the throttle back easy, and these new grips don't.
Would it have something to do with the switch housing clamping too tight around these avon grips?
When you install new grips (especially the throttle side) you want to leave a tiny gap between the end of the bar and the end of the throttle sleeve or they will bind. Loosen everything and slide it a little bit to your right if you were sitting on the bike
