Default SE ign module 32654-98 on 96 RK

I got a SE 32654-98 adjustable ign module in a trade with some other parts. Looking up web info it looks like it will fit my carbed 96 RK that I picked up a couple months ago.

It has non baffled full length exhaust already and am installing a Big Sucker, new plugs/wires.
The rest sounds/feels/looks stock as far as I know, so stage 1.

Has anyone used this SE module? I cant find much on the web about it, power improvement?, recommended settings?, etc.
Might just be obsolete, like me.

The bike runs great as is, so not trying to fix anything, but adding power cheaply is always fun. Any info is much appreciated.

The 'benefit' to an aftermarket ignition module is the ability to increase the rev limiter. IIRC, my OEM module cut the ignition off at around 5400 rpm. Being able to 'rap it up' to 6000-6200 is nice for 'showing off'.

Harley probably doesn't mfg that module, but if you're going to stay dual fire, then I'd be setting the limiter at the 6000 rpm level.

Slap it in, and go for a putt. Report back.

I've got a Dyna 2000 on my 1993 (EV27 cam, street ported heads) and I really like being able to rev to that 6,000 rpm level on occasion.

Thanks, yeah Ill put it on dual fire and 6K RPM and play with the different curves.

Im kinda scratchin my head at the VOES setting. The module has a RETARD setting and a NORMAL setting. The VOES already retards timing. So if the VOES normally RETARDS, put the switch on NORMAL and it will retard, but then what does the RETARD setting do? Add extra RETARDATION, lol. Not expecting an answer to that.

Seriously, Im figuring that the RETARD setting will use the VOES to retard the timing and the NORMAL will not. I will ride, listen for pings and see.

Dynatek usta make the screaming eagle modules.
You can call them to get the settings.

As for added power from the module I doubt you will see any but what you will see is easier starting.
At least that is what I saw when I put a Dynatek 2000P on my bikes.

I have that same module and am currently using it. Set the curve to 2 and voes on. 6000 RPM and dual fire. The module works well...That module was made by Dynatek. I spoke to them and it has the same curves as the Dyna 2ki. Voes on will retard the ignition on a hard throttle so it doesn't ping. But will advance the ignition curve on light tip in on the throttle for maximum mpg.

Good info guys thanks.

I'm guessing put it on RETARD to turn the VOES on.

I'll give it a whirl once I get her buttoned back up from the primary removal, shifter arm replacement job. Second Evo I've brought home in the last year that needed the trans shaft shifter arm replaced asap. Why don't people check the damn things once in a while, tighten em up.....

Must just be a stroke of bad luck for you on the shifter arm. I frequent the forum's for some years now and maybe hear of one a year going bad... Maybe.... I would think it's a definite indication of the previous owner bang the **** out of the bike...

And yes voes on for a stock bike...

Well, there ya go. Set it at Normal VOES, 6K RPM, curve 2, dual fire. If no pinging, try curve 1.
