Long time lurker, first time poster. Started following the forum last fall when my dad and I decided to put my grandfather's '94 FLHTC back on the road after 20 years in storage. Just got it all together, titled, insured and on the road two weeks ago. Never rode a full dresser before, but I can see why all those people do. Really enjoying it so far.
I'll gather up some before and after pics shortly, just wanted to introduce myself and say hello.
You all have already helped out numerous times, that search function is dead useful.
Pictures to follow!

For many reasosn, my father was not able to ride it at all for 20 years, and it sat in his damp garage collecting dust. Im not sure what happened, but in September of last year I decided it was time. I couldn't keep walking past that bike anymore. We agreed to do something, weren't sure what though...
First step was to get it out in the daylight and see what we had:
Next clean it up:
Once we saw that the paint was good, we knew there was a chance. The chrome bits were rough, but that was a secondary concern.
Now, this is down on a farm, and we are both mechanically inclined, but we didnt have a lot of knowledge on Harleys. I asked around and found we had a local dealer (I know, no one is going to like this) with a good reputation. I called up and the service manager gave me an enthusiastic YES. He even offered that if we waited until mid-October it would be considered "winter work" and all parts would be 20% off.
Here we are getting ready mid-October for our trip to the dealer:
Yada yada yada, three weeks and some $$ later, it was running. We also qualified for free heated winter storage, so there it stayed until April. In that time, we spent 133 days waiting for NYSDMV to issue a replacement title (they purge everything after 3 years of a vehicle not being registered, in case you were wondering).
But it all came together, title arrived 2 days before the bike was delivered from storage. Its all there now, and it feels good. Been out for a couple of hour long rides and some parking sessions for the slow stuff. I'll get there. My father hasn't ridden in 30 years, but he's remembering and he'll get there too. We will share it, and enjoy it.
Still some cosmetic work to do, but if anyone out there has rusty chrome, dip some aluminum foil in water and start scrubbing. You won't believe how well that works. +1 for science. Radio not currently working, but I'll check the fuses and play with that later.
And yea, I got the HD service manual.
Hope that wasn't too long. I myself enjoy the stories that go with the bikes you all obviously take such good care of. It's part of their history and what makes it Your Bike.
I'm sure I'll have questions, but I know where to come for answers. I'll take some photos with a real camera on a sunny day and post those. This will have to do for now.

The pics are in for moderator approval. They come with a story, so grab a drink and settle in. I think some people will appreciate it. Not sure how long it takes to get approved....

I just post them and sometimes a mod gets upset about it but I've never asked for their approval before posting before...
Tried to do it the right way haha.... We will see what happens.
