First my bike 96 heritage has EV27 cam s&s shorty E
Did top end freshen up this winter went .005 over and a valve job with some mild port work. Found the factory ignition pick up melted on tare down.
Its been suggested to me to go with something like a Dyna2000i but I'm realy hesitant to put a module like that into same area that had heat issues to begin with.
Going single fire module under the seat sounds smart to me but I'm looking for a little input on other setups that have worked out well
That Dyna system will be fine! The Evo pick-up was prone to failure after a while - my 1990 died after about ten years, but they were still available new back then, so I just replaced it. I think you'll find the Dyna is a good replacement and has the benefit of providing better advance curves, so you should also get improved performance and ride quality.
Its expensive but i like my twintec externally adjustable unit. That way if i cant get premium i dont have to take anything apart to tune down, just turn the screw from 7 to 5. I should also note the one installed on my bike is one of the first offered in its model and currently has over 56k on it.
