If that's an S&S part, call up S&S and ask their tech support. They are very helpful and knowledgeable.

Looks a little long for the hole too.. Bet no one has ever told you that before?!! Least not to me, anyway...Could it be that brass crush prevention part is also the third wire to ground?

Tried to reach S&S tech support today. After being on hold for a few minutes, I was sent to a voicemail. Left message & return # but never heard back. Finally said screw it (bike's been down for nearly 2 months now & I'm fed up) so I called the stealership & ordered the factory sensor. Won't be here till next week, but at least it should be the right part this time.
