Guess I'll join the club. This is my 5th Harley. I've had newer models 09 Sportster, 2012 slim, 2014 Heritage, 2016 road glide ultra.
But this bike is my favorite. She's a 99 Heritage Springer. I'm glad I made the jump. It's everything I remember Harley's being like when I was growing up. My dad had an 89 Tour Glide when I was younger.
We haven't gotten to ride most of this season, but damn it feels good to be back in the saddle again. I was so happy just cruising along today. Seats really comfy too.
Looks really nice, what did you pay for her?
I really liked my Evo Heritage I had, and the good vibrations with solidly mount motor to the frame, it almost felt like i was riding my old Panhead again. Fun to ride on the back roads.
What I did not like was the lousy single piston brakes, the rear would lock up that skinny 130 rear tire and I'd find myself dirt bike sliding. I'd replace the calipers with modern ones.
With the five speed tranny, on the freeways my left foot was always up shifting looking for one more gear.
Really? Wow - I don't recall seeing one like that!
1997-2000 models all had the fringe and 3 buckle saddlebags. 97 and 98 had two tone leather. Black with red or blue trim/piping, depending on paint stripe color.

Paid too much for a bike going on 19 years. But it's all in good fun. I like the single calipers they help my ham fist and foot not skid out.
