Really? Wow - I don't recall seeing one like that!
My 2000 (not an evo) didn't come with the levers wrapped/tasselled, but all the other leather was on it, and the previous owner put optional fringe off the footbaords. That was too much for me, so I removed them. Loved that bike!
Not mine, but this is how she looked:

Felt like a total idiot tonight. Started sputtering and bike shut down on me. Ran low on gas and had to put it on reserve. Man if I didn't feel like a dumbass...

If you really want to feel like an idiot then imagine this...
You fire up your bike to go for a ride and after a couple of minutes it sputters and dies.
You spend the next couple hours trying to figure out why.
Then you notice that you forgot to turn the gas on!!!!
Or you put on new throttle cables and you can't get them adjusted right so you spend the next few days (off and on) taking them off and putting them back on until you finally notice that the throttle lock is partially engaged...
My point is that if running low on gas is your best attempt at making you feel like a dumbass you have a long way to go to actually being one!!!!

Could have been worse - you could have mistakenly had it turned to reserve to begin with...
