Unfortunately, this happens more than anyone of us would like. Happened to a friend of mine this summer also.
The bolt, on the other side of that acorn nut that Tom circled is a hex head. Bad design. A buttonhead torx or allen bolt might solve the problem.
You may also want to consider replacing the OEM dampener on the front with a Works Performance shock.

Thanks looked into it a bit gonna be an over winter project new fenders are big bucks and I don't wanna be down for awhile since the season is soon over
