Man, so it seems like my Ultra is just giving me so much **** lately.
Recently fixed the ignition coil, and now riding to work this morning my voltage gauge dropped down 10v....So I shut down everything electrical that I could, and no improvement. It just kept falling mile after mile until it was finally bottomed out at 8v. I had to stop for fuel, and when I started again there was a noticeable lag, like the battery is dying. I got to work, and I had my battery tender with me, so it's plugged in and charging now. So I know I need to get a voltmeter and do some testing but i can't right now. Hoping 8-9 hours on the tender will at least get me 37 miles back home so I can figure out if it's the battery or the stator. Hoping it's the battery just no longer accepting a charge, but i'm sure I won't be that lucky.
god I hope it isnt the stator. That seems like a bitch to replace.

Could be either one or just a loose cable or bad connection.
We'll keep our fingers crossed for ya.
Don't forget about Doc Hess's stickey at the top.

Already printed it out, and bought a multimeter. I work right next to an AutoZone and they had one of the decent $20 digital meters in stock. I've been needing one anyway. When I take lunch I might go out there and see what the battery voltage is, since by then it will have been charging for about 4-5 hours.

If you are using a trickle charger it may not give you a full charge. See if Auto Zone will put a full charge on it then load test it. At least you will know if it is the battery.

I just need enough charge to bust off, I can pull the battery and fully charge on my big battery charger at home. But that isnt a bad idea, I might pull it and take it down there. Think they can do that in an hour?
I agree, check all your charging system connections.
A common problem is the stator plug connection at the engine block. Even if it looks good, they are known for the metal connectors to vibrate lose and the connection corrodes to the point that it can heat up from resistance melting the rubber. The rubber may look good but you can still have a bad connection at the terminals. YD

They should be able to do that. The thing is, every time you signal a turn, every time you hit the brakes, every mile, uses that charge.
Good luck
