Technically you are correct but let's be honest how many people have a vacuum pump around the house????

You do know you can put the vacuum hose in your mouth and apply vacuum...and hold your finger over it to drain the tank...

That was my first experience with vacuum fuel systems. What a stinky job that was. To top it off, the station manager busted my ***** giving me my money back until I showed him a taping pail of crappy 1/2 gas, 1/2 waterry goo.
I came inches from pouring it over his turban....grrrrrr.
That's the other thing I love about my S&S E carb... Just pop the drain plug out the bottom of the bowl.....

I would rather put a funnel under the petock and then take it loose from the tank and let the gas go into the funnel than suck on a hose then try to get my finger on the end to hold the vacuum.
You just gotta make sure the funnel has as large an opening as possible on both ends.
95 Heritage. Is there more to replacing the petcock than just installing the new one and re-connecting the vacuum/fuel lines? Being careful not to get gas everywhere appears to be the only thing I have to give thought to. But even with that, I was gonna wait until I'm about dry before install. Just asking if there's something else I need to know or do. Thanks
Nobody mentioned Golan petcocks . . . ? I've been looking at those resently. Any experience with Golan? I put a Pingel on my Shovelhead and I'm VERY happy with that. Thinking about the Golan on my Evo.
