Also factor in the overdrive gears I'll be installing that drive the pump 2x faster than it used to. That will speed up delivery, and scavenging as well.
I did not see that.. You do have a gauge, Right?

Thinking a SBC@40lbs @idle... Woow...

I will now. I never used a gauge before because it only tells me the high side pressure, and it usually goes down to almost zero at idle. I've always been told that if the lifters aren't making noise don't worry about it, which I haven't. Now I'm installing a gauge.

I think it would definitely be beneficial and it's not about low pressure it's about too high of a pressure now with that twice-driven pinion.. I did not know that such a thing even existed... Very curious to see the outcome...

I just hope all the engine gaskets can hold the extra oil pressure and don't start seeping, like the first generation of chevy LS, all the gaskets would seep oil, chevy lowered the oil pressure in the later generations to solve the problem

Well, the gaskets are no different than what's in the Twin Cam so there's that. If things weep I'll just put the slower gears back in.

Milled that passage out yesterday in the oil pump. Had to go buy gaskets for it locally since the place I bought them from on eBay was really dragging their feet getting them in the mail.

Tomorrow I should get those overdrive gears so I can proceed putting the whole bottom end together.

Sorry for the delays fellas. I've been waiting for them overdrive gears (which I got yesterday) but I've also been swapping my garage over so my side is the 2-stall side of the garage and my wife gets the 1-stall side. With two bikes now, and my projects running over into the larger side I sweet-talked her into letting me swap garage sides so I've got much more space for my shenanigans and she can have the single side all to herself. I've also got a job interview this afternoon so I need to stay in character for that as well.
