Roller Rockers are definitely not needed....... They can actually be noisier than regular rockers. I'm surprised the shafts are worn.. Usually they last a long time and it's the Bushings that go. I only replaced the rockers and had various lifts from .510" to .630" in my Evo and never had any issues. Just get a good set of adjustable pushrods and set to .140" preload and you should be good.
You know I hear of guys in the TC builds that that use 1.725" rocker ratios on the intakes only, in their builds with the SE204 cams and they perform very well..... I'm wondering how would they perform in and evo with that .560" cam. Hmmm.. gonna have to do a little more research... That would bring your intake lift at the valve to .595", won't change the duration any but should make a nice difference.... Gonna call a builder I know and see what he thinks....

Thanks I will probably go with a set of s&s non rollers then since they are about the same price as oem.
My springs are set up for a .585 max lift so i wouldnt be able to run a bigger ratio rocker but I'm still very curious what your builder has to say.
I'll get a couple pictures of my rockers and shafts after work. I was surprised to see that much wear as well.
I also installed s&s non rolling rocker, they came with shaft. My shafts were slightly worn with the bushing.
Don't forget that extra fifty lbs of spring pressure gets transferred to those shafts and bushings.

Can't go wrong with s&s. I have a set ordered so hopefully i can be up and running soon. This is what my shafts looked like.
Well, yet another one step forward 2 steps back night of working on my bike.....
new rockers are installed, and i have the rear cylinder pushrods adjusted and ready to go. (S&s quickees that i installed about 7k ago).
I installed the front intake pushrod, let it leak down and when i was spinning it around i noticed my pushrod tube was rocking side to side. So i pulled that pushrod out and put it in my drill press. Its bent. And not the threaded adjuster part the pushrod itself.
So do i try and hunt down one quickee pushrod or do i keep throwing money at this thing and buy a whole new set?
Also if i could figure out how to share a video i could show you how bent it is.
Tough break on the pushrod... Finding just one might be a tough one. I'd call around to local indy's (Builders)or even some of the sponsors on this sight to see if they have an extra laying around (Kirby or Scott etc.) I've never used the quickies but always use S&S adjustables which will work, just won't be an exact match... I thought I had some extras laying around. I'll check tomorrow. Working O/T tonight..
As for the video, just upload to YouTube then copy and paste the ERL to your post.. That simple....

Thanks. I called s&s and despite my pleading they wouldn't sell me a single pushrod. There is a place called the Bargain Barn here in town that sells a wide array of used motorcycle parts i think i will go dig around there this afternoon.
Otherwise I will keep making phone calls or just break down and buy a new set. Thanks again

Usually what I do is buy spares of what I want so that if something goes wrong later I already have the part.
If you went ahead a bought a new set then you'd have spares.
Just a thought.
Also since one was bent that bad I'd check the rest to see if any of them are bent as well. JMO
