I have a 1984 FXRDG. It is in original condition and unmolested. The turn signals were working and then poof they stopped. They do not flash at all. They do not light at all. They did not before, but they did flash. The schematics I found show self resetting relays instead of fuses on the left side and a flasher unit, but not where the flasher is located at.
I checked the voltage at the orange wire on the flasher and grounded to frame. I had close to 12.2 volts. I did not figure out which relay/breaker is which yet.
If none of the signal lights work then plainly there is a total power failure to them. That may either be the flasher unit itself, or the wiring to it. Check condition of the wiring and connectors, especially any ground. If the flasher unit has failed I believe it is a normal auto item, so a replacement should be available from any auto parts store. For a more upmarket replacement, which will give you press on, press off, instead of holding the button in, consider a Badlands or similar unit. More pricey, but more sophisticated!
Yes a simple little auto flasher for $7 did the trick. Fairly tall but it fit in the Headlight bucket. I got the US made version which was #LL552 did the job!
Now that I got past the mini issue, time to move on to finding the few original parts that got lost over time. There are some small chrome parts that I want to redo since the NOS type are not quite identical. It seems that this model is an odd one and I would prefer to keep it cosmetically as close to original as possible. I appreciate your help with the flasher issue!

That's a really nice bike. It's hard to set a value on it. It would probably fetch at least $12,000 here in the Bay Area.
