Is loctite 515 good for evo case halves?

Default Is loctite 515 good for evo case halves?

I’m getting ready to assemble this fine machine...sarcasm intended...is this locative 515 adequate?

Haven't used that one. The car dealership I worked at for years always kept this around for us.

We started using it to get early Northstar engines to quit leaking oil. Especially on the oil pan and bearing plate. Some numnuttz designed the oil pan seam below the correct oil level in the engine.

Loctite 510 is more suitable then the 515 but builders I know use grey Yamabond.....

Yamabond is good and so is threebond.

Just thinking, this is one area I wouldn't Experiment. If my builder days Yamabond then Yamabond it is... I really wouldn't want to take it back apart....

WP50 got it right, Loctite 518, or it's permatex equivalent, 51813 anaerobic gasket maker, your local Autozone has it.

Yamabond aint going on my engines period.

Yamabond is he only way to go for no gasket mating surfaces like cases. I've tried Loctite industrial products and few others and they didn't stand the time test. 3M makes a good one but it's like $60 a tube.
