There were always rumors about them being unbranded 2000i/p units,,who knows.
they ARE identical, and yes..you can reprogram using ( or used to be able to) Dyna's own software.
Dynatek Curvemaker software can be used to program 4 different types of ignitions, all manufactured by Dynatek and relabeled for the specific application. The software can be downloaded here: http://www.dynaonline.com/support/do...NA%202000%20HD
You also need a programming cable to use the software with a windows PC. Dynatek sells the cable or you can get a cheaper USB version, search for VRUSB2000i.

Been wanting to try a different ignition on my 94. I get some pinging with the stock ignition under a load. Have retarded it a little and even adjusted the Voes some with no luck of fully eliminating it. Kind of leery of Dynatek as I've had 3 units go bad on my Kaw drag bike. Finally switched that over to something else.

If I’m not having any issues with my stock ignition module...should I replace it with an ultima? Would I see any benefit? And if so which one? There’s a few different ones. 1997 Softail
thanks

If it works and you're happy with it then don't fix it.

Try Daytona Twinntech.
It gives you lots of options without complications.
