i will think about it. always had good luck with the Super E on my shovels
Me, Lurker. Rarely reply. Mechanical idiot:
I could never get my CV carb to operate correctly. I made a wood block to get the float properly adjusted which helped the most. My EVO isn't a hotrod. Slightly modded. VERY reliable. Last year I finally bit the bullet and put a Super E carb on it and it's like a different bike
Anybody can tinker with a bike (like I do). However, to me, total engine knowledge and getting everything to run properly is an art that not many people can master (definitely not me). Installing AFR gauges and understanding what they're telling me is beyond my capabilities. I know I had continuous problems with the CV carb, the Super E resolved all of those issues. Could an AFR gauge helped resolve what were probably simple adjustments on the CV? Maybe.
Hats off to the mechanics here. I do get useful info from your advice and learn stuff. Most beyond my capabilities though. For a wanna be like me, sometimes it's easier to ditch the problem component and bolt on something more reliable.
If you idle the bike too low it will cause problems due to the position of the throttle plate in relation to the idle slot and the amount of throttle movement before the accelerator pump starts to squirt.
