Well. With a ruptured bicep last year I didn’t get on the bike. But I did manage to do some work. I put new pistons in it and had the heads reconditioned. I also put in a ev13, I think, cam. 13 or 3! Lol. I did a friends bike with one and can’t remember who got which cam!! It’s also has a s s super e carb. 34t front pulley. The rest is stock. It’s a 89
Anyway.
On highway speeds, going 75mph I’m running like 33-3400 rpms and it feels like it struggling.
Anyone have similar setup and have similar results or is something wrong? Is the the result of the cam swap?
I believe 33-3400 at 75 mph would be for stock. Going to a 34 should not be that high. As for "struggling" at that speed, it doesn't make sense. Maybe at lower speeds with that 34 tooth but not at higher speeds.. That 13 cam is a torque cam. You should have no issues at that rpm...
It almost feels like the stock exhaust is choking it at that point. And 75 seems to be around 31-3200rpms. Closer to 80 I start hitting 3400.
Also so I have developed a issue with the turn signals and sometimes the oil pressure gauge. Sometimes they work and sometimes they don’t! I’m gonna go through with a meter but do they run off a certain voltage? Because it seems if I rev the bike they will start working. If that’s not how they operate then it’s just coincidence.
The oil pressure gauge although rarer sometime at idle shows low pressure. Like 5. At 1000rpms but all other times it’s at t0.
Wondering if all of it is connected to the same problem.
