I've replaced this line before I reached 70 on the odometer. Any easy suggestions or helpful hints replacing this line or must fairing be taken off. Thanks in advance. Getting old sucks,
dan
Well Not that this is correct or what you should do but I grabbed 2 "alligator clamps" also known as roach clips. Pinched the tubing on one side if the fairing then in the other . I then cut in the middle of the two clips so I could remove my tank. When I replaced the tank I just put a brass fueline fitting in secured with hose clamps then removed the alligator clamps easy peasy.
There is a quick disconnect fitting available for that line. Mas easy peasy.
Tried that metal QD and was too tight to work on my 97 dyna. I went back to a rubber fuel line called "Barricade". It is impervious to methanol or any alcohol gas. You can get it at NAPA.
Agreed, but they kind of work. For a confined space which I suspect stroker is dealing with a metal one is worth considering. For my plastic one I used extra tubing to create a loop, which made access a little easier.
The plastic quick disconnects suck.
I haven't tried the metal ones yet.
I haven't tried the plastic ones but the metal ones I put on my softails work great.
However you do need to have some room to install it.
A friend of mine just tried to put one on a 97 dyna wide glide and he didn't have enough room between the two sides of the tank to fit the quick disconnect.
IIRC he siad his crossover tube is only 4" long and the quick disconnect is 3" long leaving him with only 1/2" of hose on each side.

97 WG and I have a metal QD installed. I used new fuel line and made it longer so I'd have more to work with.
