Seems like mine did not come with fishtail pipes!
Could this be a difference between US and European versions?
Can I just buy the fishtail ends and bolt them on, or must i change the exhausts altogether?
Thanks
Mine had head pipes with a crossover/rear tube to the left side and a muffler on each side, but they could have been changed.
Yes you can just get slip-on fishtails.
First welcome to the forum.
As for the '96 catalog why would you want one as most things in there won't be made anymore.
As for the timing cover all you have to do is drill the rivits.
When you put the after market one on all you will need is two screws.
8/32 I think but I can't remember for sure right now.

I inferred he was interested in the Harley-Davidson 1996 Genuine Motor Parts & Accessories Catalog, not the "1995-1996 Softail Models Parts Catalog", HD part number: 99455-96A
lqqk!
thanks for the great pics!
yes what i am interested is in the accessories catalog, so i know which covers i am missing, lol!
I am trying to figure what are the extras on my hd.
now i found out that the brake caliper is not original, of course, it even does not "bite" the disk fully.
I get a photo asap.
thanks
While I don't know what caliper you have on your bike if it isn't original it's probably better as the OEM ones (single disk) are just about worthless.
To get good brakes you have to either spend north of $1k to put dual disks on your bike or get a 4 or 6 pot caliper (about $500).
Here's a few 1996 catalogs that might interest you. It looks like the first link would be for the main catalog and the other links are for supplements. I don't see any HD part numbers assigned to the catalogs.
This means i will take texashillcountry advice, and cherish and keep them!
I already polished it, shines like a diamond
Only need to buy some new pads, change dot5 oil, and bleed it like they used to.
