@Uncle G.
Somewhere I have a '94 brochure. I can look it up, if need be, but I owned a '94 I bought new.
Cool! I bought the same 94' FLSTN a month ago. Could you please check if you still have some docs of it? Thanks.

To get good brakes you have to either spend north of $1k to put dual disks on your bike or get a 4 or 6 pot caliper (about $500).

I hear quite often, how the single piston calipers are worthless, I disagree… I have two bikes with the single piston and a bike with the later 4 piston calipers. The 4 piston does offer better braking, (not a huge difference) but the single piston units do an adequate job in my opinion. The single piston caliper is more aesthetically pleasing to my eye.

That said, my riding is mostly mountainous and under 60 mph (mostly 45-55), you cats that are ripping up the highways at high speed, probably need more braking force!

so which one do you think will fit? behind the rivets is supposed to be screws?

thanks

(orry i cant seem to be able to resize them pictures)
The top cover with horizontal holes is more traditional for big twins. Sportsters use the vertical holes.
After removing the riveted cover you will find that there are threaded holes left and right holding your ignition plate on. You will need to install the stand-off's pictured (which you can get for a few bucks at Harley) to convert to using covers with horizontal holes. That is unless you just want to rivet your original cover back on.
