Default 1984 fxrt

Hello Everyone,
How can I find out if I have an early '84 or later '84? My bike has an Evo engine.

Thanks in advance.

Do you have the entire motorcycle, or are you putting one back together?

I have an 84 FXRP and I'm not sure if this helps but,I have the evo engine with a wet clutch. I've had people tell me that the early models have the dry clutch.
Let me know how you make out.

I bought the bike as a running bike. It needed some minor work, but most of that's finished.

My bike does have a dry clutch.

thanks everyone.

Use the link that Sandhog gave you above - and don't keep us in suspense, what did you find?!

If it has a dry clutch, it is early `84.

I looked up my VIN using your link. It only confirms that my bike is a 1984 FXRT. No other indications.
Based on what others have said, dry clutch vs wet clutch; I'm going to assume that my bike is an early '84.

I'll post some pictures this weekend.

Thank you.
